TFL Taxi Driver Medicals

Our General Practitioner is able to do TFL Taxi driver medicals.   Nonetheless, Local Authorities (and not the DVLA) choose who may do them. The majority of Local Authorities allow any GP to conduct Taxi Medicals, but some stipulate that only the driver’s personal GP may do so.To prevent disappointment, please get the needed medical form and check with your Local Authority that any GP may conduct your medical before booking.

WHAT’S INVOLVED

Each Local Authority will choose which questions and tests will be included in our medical examination. However, all physical examinations include an eye exam and blood pressure check. Every medical examination must adhere to the same rules required for a driver to meet Group 2 Medical Standards. By accessing the website of your Local Authority and doing a search for ‘Taxi Licensing’, you may locate your medical form and learn what is required.

MEDICAL RECORDS REQUIRED

Some local governments need a doctor to have access to medical records in order to complete the medical. This may need to be sought from your primary care physician.

TfL Taxi Driver Medicals are mandatory assessments that taxi drivers in London, England must undergo in order to obtain and maintain a TfL license.
