Taxi Driver Medical Leeds

Taxi Driver Medical Leeds

Taxi driver medicals can be completed by our General Practitioner. However Local Authorities (and not the DVLA) decide who can carry them out. Most Local Authorities allow any GP to perform Taxi Medicals where as some state only the driver’s own General Practitioner may do so.

Please obtain the required medical form and confirm with your Local Authority that any GP can complete your medical before booking to avoid disappointment.

Leeds City Council is the local authority of the City of Leeds in West Yorkshire, England. It is a metropolitan district council, one of five in West Yorkshire and one of 36 in the metropolitan counties of England, and provides the majority of local government services in Leeds.

WHAT’S INVOLVED

Our examination will vary between each Local Authority as they decide what questions and tests are involved in the medical. But all medicals include an eye test, and a blood pressure test. Every medical must follow the same guidelines that a driver must reach Group 2 Medical Standards. You can find your medical form online and see what’s involved by visiting your Local Authority’s website and searching for ‘Taxi Licensing’.

MEDICAL RECORDS REQUIRED

Some Local Authorities require a Doctor to have access to medical records when completing the medical, This may need to be requested from your GP surgery.
