Taxi Driver Medicals Manchester
Our General Practitioner can perform taxi driver medicals. Who may carry them out, however, is determined by Local Authorities (and not the DVLA). While some Local Authorities specify that only the driver’s personal General Practitioner may administer Taxi Medicals, the majority let any GP to do so.
To prevent disappointment, please get the necessary medical form and verify with your local authority that any GP can conduct your medical before making a reservation.
The municipal government for Manchester, a city and metropolitan borough in Greater Manchester, England, is called Manchester City Council.
WHAT’S IMPLICATED
Each Local Authority will have a different examination depending on the questions and tests they chose to include in the medical. However, a blood pressure check and an eye exam are part of any checkup. The same standards that a driver must meet for Group 2 Medical Standards must be followed by every medical. By going to your Local Authority’s website and looking for “Taxi Licensing,” you may obtain your medical form online and learn more about the process.
REQUIRED: MEDICAL RECORDS
When performing the medical, some local authorities demand that the doctor have access to medical records; you may need to seek this from your GP office.
